Output Power
Output power
The output power can be chosen by changing the TX_POWER parameter in IEEE802154E.h to a value between 3 and 31.
The following table reports quick connectivity measurements done between two indoor nodes 4m from each other.
These measurements are clearly indicative only. While they don't have any form of scientific value, they allow one to get a general sense of what output power to use.
TX_POWER setting | output power | RSSI at receiver | *link ETX_' |
31 | 0dm | -54dBm | 1.00 |
27 | -1dBm | -54dBm | 1.00 |
23 | -3dBm | -60dBm | 1.01 |
19 | -5dBm | -63dBm | 1.04 |
15 | -7dBm | -66dBm | 1.00 |
11 | -10dBm | -65dBm | 1.00 |
7 | -15dBm | -68dBm | 1.00 |
6 | ~-16dBm | -74dBm | 1.27 |
5 | ~-18dBm | -74dBm | 1.01 |
4 | ~-22dBm | -68dBm | 1.01 |
3 | -25dBm | -80dBm | infinity |
The CC2420 datasheet provides the mapping between TX_POWER setting and output power.
