Numbering

OpenMote is the generic name of the motes developed by the OpenWSN team. Each version of the board is numbered according to the following rules.

...

  • X indicates the technology of the microntroller. Possible values are 8, 16 and 32 for 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers;
  • A is incremented when the BOM of the board has changed, i.e. a different chip is used on the board. This requires a change in firmware.
  • B is incremented when the schematic of the board has changed, i.e. pins are connected differently. This requires a change in firmware.
  • C is incremented when the layout of the board has changed, i.e. a new form factor. This does not requires a change in firmware.
